BRIDESMAIDS APPOINTMENT INFO

Do I need an appointment to try on gowns?

Appointments ensure you get a private fitting experience with a stylist - it’s preferred for groups :) 

Walk-ins are welcome too! You can browse and try on dresses in our main fitting rooms but please note when it gets busy, we ask that groups share one fitting room and take turns so as to be fair to all customers :) 

 

When should I book my appointment?

We recommend booking 6-7 months before your wedding to allow time for pre-ordering and alterations. :) 

Use our online scheduler to book your Bridesmaids Appointment at a time that suits :) 

How long does ordering take? It depends on the availability :) 

  • IN STORE? If we have your sizes in-store, you can purchase them immediately. Yay! 
  • IN THE WAREHOUSE? If stock is in our warehouse or another store, we can ship them to you in 3-5 business days (€5.95 for A Post or €9.95 for express shipping in Ireland to one address).
  • In-store pickup is available too if it’s coming from our warehouse!  (Please allow up to 10 days if shipping from our warehouse - we’ll call you when it arrives ☺️)
  • PRE-ORDER? If your gown is sold out, but is coming back in to stock in the coming months, you can purchase it as part of our PRE-ORDER system :) It will then be posted out to you or you can collect it! Read more about pre-ordering below :) 

What is pre-ordering?

  • Pre-ordering means paying ahead of time to secure your chosen dresses, which will then be shipped to you when they arrive in to stock! 
  • If is a more sustainable way to create gowns, we dye our own exclusive shades of fabric and design our own gowns, you then choose which fabric, shade and style from the ones available to you! 
  • We have a production partner in Spain who makes our Irish designed gowns to the highest standard. There is a queuing system for the styles so that’s why there are gaps of time between each restock :)
  • Some styles will be restocked regularly, some styles will only by a limited edition so not restocked, and some styles will only be restocked twice a year. It is all based on demand ☺️ We review the styles available every 3 months. 
  • As the gowns you choose to pre order are cut specifically on your request, they count as a made-to-order gown and therefore are not returnable. We can not offer exchanges or refunds on pre-orders. However if circumstances require a change of size, we will always, always do our best to help!  
  • Delivery can take weeks or months depending on the time of your apppointment from the time of the next scheduled delivery of that style in that shade, so to have the most options open to you, we HIGHLY recommend ordering 6-7 months before the wedding to allow time for delivery and your alterations etc :) 


Tell me what happens in the appointment!

Your appointment is 1 hour 30 minutes—enough time to explore colours, fabrics, and find the perfect fit for your bridesmaids!

Our private appointment rooms accommodate up to 6 people (including the bride) :)

. When you come in to the store - your stylist will greet you and show you some gowns that you might like and that will be available to you in time for your wedding!

. The gowns you try on are SAMPLES - we do this to try and reduce waste as they get damaged from multiple try-ons. The gowns you BUY will be fresh ones :) 

Where are the appointment rooms & how do I book?

Appointments are available to book in three locations for bridesmaids : Folkster Kilkenny, South William Street, and Ballymount! , with a selection of gowns, belts, and accessories to try on!

Is there an appointment deposit fee?

A €30 deposit is required to secure your deposit and this is refundable after your appointment (or redeemable on your next purchase, excluding bridal items). :) 

Need to cancel or change your appointment?

Please, please mail hello@folkster.com at least 72 hours in advance to cancel - or call us on 0567703312 and take note of the assistant you speak with and the time, this is important to note in writing so you can claim your deposit back :) 

We are so sorry to have to say this - but late cancellations will forfeit the deposit, which cannot be transferred to another appointment, stock, or store credit. Sorry!

What should I bring?

There’s no need to bring anything, but feel free to bring shoes and wear the underwear similar or the same as to what you’ll wear on the big day :)

How will I know when my pre-order is ready?

Once your dresses arrive, we’ll ship them immediately and send you a confirmation email. :)

Pre-order vs. Restock Alerts—what’s the difference?

Pre-order: Secures your dresses with payment now so that you get them as soon as they arrive back in to stock! 

Restock alert: Notifies you when an item is back in stock, but does not reserve it—items are first-come, first-served. :)

Other Useful Information

What is the price and size range of your gowns?

Prices start at €149.95, with mix-and-match options available.

Separates start at €59.95. 

Many of our gowns range in size from XS to 5XL - we would be happy to let you know availability before you come to visit us :) 


Do you offer alterations?

Sorry! We do not offer alterations in-store.

We recommend finding a reputable bridal alterations service through recommendations or online reviews :) 

Can I exchange a bridesmaid gown for a different size?

Email hello@folkster.com with your order details, and we’ll do our best to help!

If the gown is an older style that’s sold out and won’t be restocked, we may not be able to accommodate the exchange, but we’ll always try!


What is your return/exchange policy?

• Pre-order gowns are cut to your request and are therefore non-returnable.  Regular in-stock gowns can be returned within 14 days of receipt for a full refund or exchange. :) 

Returns can be made via post (addresses listed on our returns page) or in-store by pre-arranging via email at hello@folkster.com.
